- Biografia
Tiziana Baracchi è nata nel 1952 a Venezia, dove vive e lavora come medico ospedaliero, anestesista-rianimatore. Fin dalla fine degli anni 60 ha frequentato gli ambienti artistici di ricerca e ha cominciato i suoi primi esperimenti pittorici con predilezione per l'optical, il gestuale, il concettuale. Ha collaborato con Giancarlo Da Lio fin dal primi anni 80 nel diffondere la filosofia del Movimento Itinerari 80 sul significato e sull'uso dello spazio alternativo e nel far conoscere tutto ciò che per l'oggi è marginale ma ufficialità per il domani. In questo contesto entra nel network della Mail - Art. Nel 1996 firma il Manifesto del Movimento lperspazialista con Giancarlo Da Lio. Collabora con vari periodici. Ha partecipato ad innumerevoli mostre in tutto il mondo. Sue opere sono raccolte in alcuni musei e collezioni private in Italia, Spagna, Francia, Svizzera, Belgio, Olanda, Gran Bretagna, Danimarca, Ungheria, Russia, Giappone, Brasile, Canada, USA. E' presente in molti siti internet. E' stata invitata alla 50ma Biennale di Venezia - sezione Extra 50.

- Per secoli l'uomo pittore ha riempito tele con colori sempre meno naturali per riprodurre la realtà. Alberi e paesaggi, ritratti di nobili e bambini in lacrime eseguiti con più o meno marcata abilità. Alcuni hanno dimostrato di essere abili artigiani, altri degli artisti. Non sempre i più bravi ma certamente i più fortunati sono passati alla storia. Nel secolo XX l'ondata dei futuristi ha dato una svolta alla storia dell'arte soprattutto nel modo di fare arte . Lucio Fontana ha tagliato la tela, aprendo la possibilità di andare oltre. Per noi artisti di fine secolo, ma soprattutto di nuovo millennio, quello che conta è l'idea. Non ci interessa cimentarci con destrezza tra tele e colori, consideriamo alcuni grandi maestri del passato insuperabili. Tutto è stato dipinto, noi vogliamo fare qualcos'altro. E soprattutto ci preme comunicare. E' l'obbiettivo del nostro tempo. Siamo oltre il contemporaneo. Ieri è passato ed è già domani.

- - When did you begin to make Mail Art?
- I began in the eighties. The first two years it was not easy because Mail Art is not speed. It needs many months, sometimes also 1 or 2 years to have answer, but in the beginning artists does not know it.
- - Why did you begin to make Mail Art?
- I loved and love all avant-garde and I research all new way to do art. In the XX century the Futuristi made all news: installation, performance, and Mail Art too ( how is it possible to forget the “ FuturBalla” postcards?).
- I saw a Mail Art exhibition and I decided to try to enter in the Network.
- - Where did you begin to make Mail Art?
- You want to do this interview in the most classical way……when, why, where…….
- This time I answer with a title of a The Beatles’ Song: “From me to you”. You Know that all my Plastocollage have the name of a The Beatles’ Song…..but let’s go on with your question.
- I work at home where I have my Studio at the first floor and I often have not too much free-time to come and to go. I have a passion from my first years of life. When I was a child I began to collect stamps and I liked all about mail. I join together my ideas: my work on art, my love for mail…this is Mail Art.
- After a couple of years all go on, almost alone… everyday you send something and everyday you receive something.
- Soon I understood I must have my own project. My love for music gave me idea. Music, I said, Rock music and my favourite group, The Beatles, the best from many years. In this way “The Beatles forever” Mail Art Project was born.
- In the same time our “Tree of Poetry” grew very strong and its existence spread all around the world and became quickly itself a Mai Art project.
- With the new Millennium I decided to have another project to revitalize my correspondence, because in the nineties my address-book become very big: many hundreds of addresses and of course it is impossible to correspond with all quickly. With someone I have regular exchange, with others it happens only once or twice and than no more. A new project is a good reason to go on.
- In the same way I saw that postcard size is very common and used in Mail-Art, easy to send, easy to keep, easy to exhibit, easy to classify and to catalogue. So my new no deadline Mail-Art project was born. It names “Postcards”.

- SINCE THE FIRST YEARS OF ‘80s I COLLABORATED WITH GIANCARLO DA LIO PROPAGATING THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE MOVEMENT ITINERARI 80 ABOUT THE MEANING AND THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ART SPACE. IN THIS CONTEXT I ENTERED MAIL ART NETWORK.
- IN THE BEGINNING, AS MANY MAILARTIST DO , I TRY TO ANSWER TO MAIL ART PROJECT WORKING ON THEME AND NOTHING ELSE.
- I THINK I CAN NAME “ARTIST” ONLY SOMEBODY HAVE IN ARTWORKS THEIR “LINE OR SYMBOL” WHICH IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THEIR IDEA, ON THE CONTRARY THEY ARE “ARTISAN”. IT IS THE SAME WITH MAIL ART. AND SO I TRANSFERRED MY “SYMBOLS” FROM PICTURE TO MAIL ART WORK. AND NOW I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE UNTILL I’LL TURN MY IDEA ON ART WORK. MAY BE?
- NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. TURNING OVER IDEAS MADE CIVILIZATION OF MAN AND ENVELOPING OF SOCIETY: THE NEW FRONTIER WE NEED.
- MY WORKS NAME “PLASTOCOLLAGE”, BECAUSE I USE PLASTIC MATERIAL TO MAKE OR TO STOP TOGETHER MY COLLAGE. THE NEOLOGYSM IS BY GIANCARLO DA LIO, ART CRITIC.
- SINCE MANY YEARS YOU SEE MY WORKS GOING ON WITH PYRAMID, PALM, APPLES, CD.
- THE PYRAMID IS THE SYMBOL OF THE PAST AND OF ALL THE HISTORY AND THE CULTURE OF MAN, OF ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE KNOWN AND STUDIED. THE PALM ARE FOREVER TREES, BUT ALSO ASSOCIATED TO HAPPY HOLIDAYS IMAGE AND PUBBLICITY PARADISE. THE APPLE, POLYHEDRIC FRUIT, REMEMBERS GOOD AND EVIL, BUT IT IS ALSO THE SYMBOL OF NEW YORK AND OF COURSE OF THE BEATLES: FEELINGS, IMMORTAL MUSIC ASSOCIATED TO THE BEST MOMENTS OF OUR LIVES. THE CD SPREADS AND CONTAINS MUSIC, PICTURES, WORDS, ABOVE OVER IDEAS.
- IN THE XX CENTURY THE FUTURISTI’ WAVE GAVE A TURN TO THE HISTORY OF ART ABOVE ALL IN THE MOOD TO DO ART. LUCIO FONTANA CUT THE CANVAS, GIVING US, ARTISTS OF THE END OF THE CENTURY BUT ABOVE ALL OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM, THE POSSIBILITY TO GO ON THE OTHER SIDE.
